
China Adds Multiple New Robot Tariff Codes in 2026 Tariff Adjustment

China’s 2026 tariff adjustment introduces new codes for intelligent bionic robots (0% MFN rate) and two types of cleaning robots, aiming to support the robotics industry while maintaining trade controls.
Recently, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council released the 2026 Tariff Adjustment Plan (hereinafter referred to as the Plan), introducing several new tariff codes related to robots in the import and export tariff schedule.
According to the Plan, the 2026 import and export tariff codes will include a new category for intelligent bionic robots with a most-favored-nation (MFN) tariff rate of 0% and a general tariff rate of 30%. Additionally, two new tariff codes for different specifications of cleaning robots have been added, with MFN rates of 8% and 0%, respectively, and general tariff rates of 130% and 30%.
