China’s Sinopec Deploys First Community Supercharger Station
On August 30, China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) announced that its first community supercharger station, Lianhua Supercharger Station, was completed and put into use in Longyan City, Fujian Province.
The planned area of the project is about 4,800 m² and is able to charge 24 vehicles at the same time. The station integrates refueling, charging, photovoltaic, a rest area. The options available for charging include ordinary family sedans with an endurance of about 400 km in 25 minutes, with an estimated average annual charging capacity of about 3 million kWh.
The supercharger station, jointly built by Sinopec Corp. Fujian Company and the State Grid Fujian Electric Power Co., Ltd., is located in the central city of Longyan, and is surrounded by many communities that have shown great demand in such charging stations. Two 1000KVA pad mounted transformers were installed during the first phase of the project, and six sets of 300kW group charging and control equipment were adopted for the chargers. The maximum output power of a charger is 180 kW, which is 3 or 4 times of the maximum output power of an ordinary charging gun, and the EV can be fully charged in 25 minutes.
There are 150 photovoltaic canopies laid above the charging parking spaces covering a total area of about 410 m². The photovoltaic canopies adopt domestic leading battery modules, with a total power generation of 82 kW. According to the average sunshine duration of 4.5 hours in Longyan area, the daily power generation can reach 369 degrees, and photovoltaic power generation will supplement the solar power capacities, which can fully charge about 6 electric vehicles and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 13.4 tons per year.

At present, 24 charging parking spaces and 62 social parking spaces have been built in the station. The second phase of project will see another 24 charging parking spaces built with addedfunctions such as battery swapping stations, driver’s rest area, battery detection, V2G and a 5G data center.
In the next step, Sinopec Corp. said that it will intensify the rational planning and utilization of existing sites to build the infrastructure of charging and swapping battery station, speed up the construction of “fuel, natural gas, hydrogen energy and electricity service” stations, and plan to build another 5,000 charging and swapping battery stations by 2025.
