Chinese consumers are more passionate about AI than the global average
Will consumers who criticize over-dependence on technology want to buy smart speakers?

About 32 percent of consumers around the world are planning to buy AI devices, including robots and smart speakers, according to the latest Global Consumer Insights issued by PwC. 10 percent of consumers already own AI devices.
According to the survey, 58 percent of people have no interest in AI devices. This survey, which covers more than 22,000 consumers in 27 countries, shows that the global market is still generally not receptive to AI. However, indifference to AI is highest in developed countries such as Europe and the United States. Consumers in emerging economies such as China, Vietnam, India and Thailand have relatively strong desires to buy AI devices.
52 percent of consumers in China and 59 percent of consumers in Brazil plan to buy AI devices. China is also the country with the highest commercial adoption of AI devices, with 21 percent of consumers already owning AI devices.
So, what kind of people are early adopters of AI equipment?
The survey showed that males aged 18-24 are more willing to use mobile phones for purchases and are less sensitive to prices and network security concerns. However, they particularly value fast delivery. The report shows that 25 percent of this consumer segment want their orders delivered within one day.
At the same time, they are also advocates of leasing and shared economy, and are willing to spend money on fitness, cooking and subscription services.
Nine percent of female consumers in the survey have purchased AI equipment. Only 27 percent of them were interested in buying one in the future, while 64 percent were indifferent to AI. 12 percent of male consumers own AI devices and 36 percent plan to purchase one in the future.
