Denza’s First Mid-Size SUV Concept Car Unveiled
At the 2022 Chengdu Motor Show, which opened on August 26, Denza, a joint venture between BYD and Daimler AG, presented its first mid-size SUV concept vehicle, INCEPTION, and its medium and large multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), Denza D9.
Denza D9 has already launched seven different models of its DM-i hybrid and pure electric vehicles, with prices ranging from 329,800 yuan to 459,800 yuan ($48,064-67,010). This was the first time that the concept car INCEPTION was unveiled.
The INCEPTION model is described as having three main features: wisdom and spirituality, scientific and technological power, and driving passion. The whole body of the car is in the shape of a coupe SUV, with elegant curved lines on the sides and a dual-layered design on the front. The first layer continues the front face of the Denza family, and the second layer is a luminous grille with diamond cutting technology.
Inside the vehicle, INCEPTION outlines a symmetrical cab with minimalist lines. In addition to the previous LCD instruments and large central control screen, it also adds a screen in front of the passenger seat. The car will be equipped with the Denza Link super intelligent interactive system and also support OTA upgrades.
As an SUV concept car developed with the idea of a supercar in mind, INCEPTION is able to accelerate from 0 to 100km in 3 seconds. The car is said to have a length of 4.9 meters and a wheelbase of 2.9 meters.
