Investors include the Zhongguancun Science City Technology Growth Fund, Beijing Information Industry Development Investment Fund, Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund, GAC Group, Guangzhou Guanghua Fund, and Didi itself. The funds will boost AI R&D investments and accelerate L4 autonomous driving deployments, supporting high-quality development in the transportation sector.
Didi co-founder and Didi Autonomous Driving CEO Zhang Bo stated that L4 autonomous driving technology represents one of the most significant shifts in the coming AI decade, poised to greatly enhance mobility safety, efficiency, and user experience. With nearly a decade of expertise in AI, mass production, and operations, the company remains committed to responsible innovation, exploring new employment opportunities while steadily advancing autonomous driving to contribute to China's intelligent connected vehicle industry.
This year, Didi Autonomous Driving has launched full-scenario, fully unmanned testing in Beijing and Guangzhou, with vehicles performing stably in complex conditions like rush hours, late nights, and heavy rain. The next-generation pre-installed autonomous vehicle, co-developed with GAC Aion, is slated for delivery by late 2025, followed by demonstration applications in Beijing and Guangzhou.
