DiDi Releases $29M in Bonuses and Empty Driving Subsidies
From April 28th to May 4th, DiDi will distribute a total of ¥200 million RMB ($29 million USD) in rewards to DiDi drivers in nearly 80 cities across China, including Guangzhou, Xiamen, Wuhan, Harbin, Xi’an and Baotou.
In addition, DiDi also provides subsidies for its subsidiary brands such as Xiaoju Charging. At the same time, it will continue to implement holiday driver service fees in some cities, with a fee ranging from ¥ 2 to 6 RMB ($0.3-0.9 USD) per order, which will be fully given to the drivers.
The compensation for empty driving and waiting is issued to passengers with cancelled orders, and drivers are not responsible. It consists of two parts: compensation for empty driving and compensation for waiting, with a maximum compensation of ¥5 RMB ($0.7 USD) per order.
For drivers who meet the compensation requirements, the platform will automatically issue compensation to their accounts. Next, the empty driving compensation function will be rolled out as a regular service in landing cities.
