DJI Launches Certified Refurbished Drones and Sports Cameras
On November 11, Shenzhen-based drone manufacturer DJI launched certified refurbished products on its official website for the first time, which currently include the DJI Mini 3 Pro and DJI Pocket 2. The services are now available in mainland China, with the possibility of their future expansion to global markets.
Product Name | Current price (yuan) | Original price | Deduction |
DJI Mini 3 Pro (with ordinary remote controller) | 4,079 | 4,788 | 709 |
DJI Mini 3 Pro (with DJI RC remote controller) | 4,929 | 5,788 | 859 |
DJI Pocket 2 | 2,129 | 2,499 | 370 |
DJI Pocket 2 Creator Combo | 2,979 | 3,499 | 520 |
The official website says that the refurbished models certified by DJI are second-hand products after undergoing a strict refurbishment process. Before putting them on the online store, DJI carries out strict testing and evaluation on each product to ensure that they meet quality standards. They are similar to new devices, and have the same quality assurance as new products. Some refurbished models may have slight scratches.

Refurbished models enjoy the same after-sales service policy and warranty period as the new ones, supporting a seven-day return policy. They can also only be exchanged with refurbished models. Since the appearance of the refurbished models is close to that of new ones, exchange initiated due to appearance reasons is not supported.
Many brands have now launched certified refurbished product services, including Apple, Microsoft and Huawei.
Generally speaking, “refurbished” is not a particularly attractive word for digital products, and it is often linked with negative keywords such as “shoddy.” But certified refurbished products do not follow this logic. With official endorsements by the brand, these products are often more quality-guaranteed, the renovation process is stricter and more standardized, and warranty services are consistent with conventional new products. Users can also have an experience close to new products at a lower price.
In addition, a report by data research organization Counterpoint said that the second-hand refurbished smartphone market grew by 15% year-on-year in 2021, exceeding the 4.5% growth rate of the new smartphone market. Refurbished products are becoming more and more popular among consumers and smartphone manufacturers.
