DJI Starts Blind Bookings for New Product in China, Expected to Be Mini 3 Drone
The DJI Mini 3 drone previously passed FCC certification, and the new product is expected to be released this month. The firm has now reportedly started promotion of its upcoming products, launching blind booking activities in offline stores for new products from December 7 to December 9. This also implies that the DJI Mini 3 drone will be launched on or after December 9, according to a recent report by Chinese media outlet IT Home.
A promotional poster shows that users can enjoy a gift package worth 797 yuan ($114) by participating in blind booking activities, including a 64G SanDisk memory card, a DJI drone landing pad, and a set of training lessons for DJI drones.

Previously leaked information shows that the DJI Mini 3 supports 4K HDR video with a standard battery life of 38 minutes. It weighs 249 grams, has a 1/1.3 inch CMOS sensor, and supports dual native ISO and chip-level HDR technology. The imaging configuration is consistent with the Pro version.
In addition, according to pictures released by one Twitter user, the DJI mini 3 appeared in an offline Best Buy store in New Jersey, USA for a price of $859.99. It has a drone and a remote controller with a screen. Considering that the price of a DJI Mini 3 Pro + DJI RC remote controller with screen previously launched in China is 5,788 yuan ($830), the price of the new product in China is expected to be lower.
It was reported previously that the DJI Mini 3 will cut the front and back obstacle avoidance, and it is expected to be released before December 12. Judging from the leaked pictures, it can be seen that the forward obstacle avoidance sensor is indeed reduced, and the opening part is not round as in the Pro version.
