December 6 - The newly released "Doubao Assistant" smartphone, a collaborative product between ByteDance's Doubao AI and ZTE, is encountering significant compatibility challenges with major third-party apps. Following earlier reports of access issues on WeChat, multiple Alibaba-owned applications—including Taobao, Taobao Flash, Idle Fish, and Damai—are now reportedly blocking login attempts from the device.

According to tests, when users manually open these apps, a security mechanism is triggered, displaying a login failure notification. The compatibility concerns extend beyond e-commerce and social platforms. Several major banking apps, such as those from Agricultural Bank of China and China Construction Bank, have implemented enhanced monitoring for AI assistants and screen-sharing activities. Users report encountering strong pop-up warnings within these financial apps, instructing them to disable the Doubao AI assistant before proceeding.

Furthermore, popular gaming applications like Honor of Kings can reportedly detect AI control attempts. Currently, these games can only be launched manually, as the AI assistant is unable to initiate or operate them.

The situation highlights the growing complexities surrounding AI-integrated hardware within established mobile ecosystems, as platform operators and service providers implement stricter security and access controls.
