Estimated Delivery Time of Tesla China’s Standard Range Model Y Extended to 10-14 Weeks

On November 10, the official website of Tesla China displayed an estimated delivery time of the Standard Range version of its Model Y was adjusted from 6-10 weeks to 10-14 weeks. Consumers who order this model now may not receive their vehicles until at least mid-January 2022.

Tesla China offers three versions of the Model Y, namely Standard Range, Long Range and Performance versions. Among them, the estimated delivery time of the Long Range and Performance versions are both in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Standard Range versions of Model Y was launched on the official website of Tesla China in July of this year, with a starting price of 276,000 yuan ($43,187.76) and a range of 525 kilometers.

Under the power configuration of a single-motor rear wheel drive, the Standard Range version of the Model Y is able to accelerate to 100km/hr within 5.6 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 217 km/h. The vehicle is shipped with an advanced interior kit.

Although the Model Y has only been on the market in China for a few months, it has still become one of the most popular electric vehicles on the market. According to data released by CPCA in October this year, Tesla sold 13,303 Model Y’s in China, making it the third best-selling new energy vehicle in China. At present, Tesla produces the China-made Model 3 and Model Y at its Shanghai GigaFacotry.

Furthermore, CPCA also shows that the whole scale of Tesla China has once again exceeded 50,000 vehicles in October, reaching 54,391 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 348% and a month-on-month decrease of 3%. Among the vehicles, the export volume exceeded 40,000 vehicles for the first time, reaching 40,666 vehicles, which accounts for nearly 80% of the total wholesale sales, setting a new monthly record.
