EV Maker NIO Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Chinese Retail Giant Suning
Leading domestic electric vehicle manufacturing NIO and retail giant Suning signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Aug. 5. The two parties will establish a long-term strategic partnership, focusing on the development of NIO Space’s store expansion, product sales, charging pile construction, and brand cooperation promotion, Chinese media Auto Home reported.
According to media, Suning Plaza will promote the construction of NIO House and NIO Space showrooms. The company will also seek cooperation around areas including Suning cloud services, software services, and related terminal smart hardware, combining Suning’s cross-brand, cross-category Smart Home, and NIO Telematics, to explore new types of user connectivity and create a spatial interconnection between cars and homes.

NIO members will enjoy platinum membership benefits at Suning Hotel. Suning Plaza, Suning Tesco Cloud Store, and Suning Hotel will also work with NIO to build a charging pile service system, Auto Home reported.
NIO has opened 136 stores across the country so far, including 22 NIO Centers and 114 NIO Spaces, and its sales network covers 87 cities across the country, Auto Home reported, adding that NIO has built 141 battery swap stations, covering 64 cities.
