Evergrande Auto’s Hengchi 5 Model to Start Pre-sale

The president of Evergrande Auto, Liu Yongzhuo, announced on Sunday that pre-sale of its Hengchi 5 model will be initiated in the near future. Accordingly, the first batch of sales and experience centers for the vehicle will be opened in 15 key cities across China, including Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

On Monday, media outlets photographed a Hengchi 5 model that had just arrived in Guangzhou. Previously, Evergrande Auto released a questionnaire, suggesting that the price range of this new car may fall between 150,000-240,000 yuan ($23,559-$37,694), and that the new car will begin mass production by June 22 at the latest.

The Hengchi 5 successfully rolled off the production line in a Tianjin factory on December 30, 2021, 12 days ahead of the original timetable. As the first model to be launched by Evergrande Auto, the length, width and height of the Hengchi 5 are 4725 mm, 1925 mm, 1688 mm respectively, while the wheelbase is 2780 mm and the NEDC cruising range will exceed 700km.

In terms of configuration, the Hengchi 5 will be equipped with a triple screen consisting of a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, a 14.6-inch central control panel, and a 10.25-inch auxiliary driving screen. It also features a panoramic skylight and L2.5 driving assistance functions.

In terms of power, the new car will provide single-motor and dual-motor versions, with a CLTC cruising range reaching 602km and 558km respectively. The single-motor version has a maximum output power of 150kW, a peak torque of 345 N·m and an acceleration time of 7.8 seconds from zero to 100 km/h.
