Boundless Power, founded by ex-Horizon Robotics VP Zhang Yufeng, raised 300 million RMB in angel funding led by Sequoia China to develop a robot "universal operation brain," targeting embodied AI breakthroughs.

Boundless Power, founded in 2025 by former Horizon Robotics VP Zhang Yufeng, has completed a 300 million RMB angel round led by Sequoia China and Linear Capital, with participation from Hillhouse Ventures, Horizon Robotics, and Baidu Ventures, nearing closure of a follow-on round for a total exceeding 500 million RMB.

Beijing-based Boundless Power focuses on building a robot "universal operation brain" to overcome hand-eye-brain coordination bottlenecks, driving embodied intelligence via dual tracks of general foundation model R&D and expert model deployment, offering integrated software-hardware solutions.

Zhang Yufeng, who led Horizon Robotics's intelligent driving business to No. 1 market share for domestic ADAS and partnerships with BYD and Volkswagen, brings deep R&D and commercialization expertise. Co-founder and CTO Xu Wenda, a Carnegie Mellon robotics PhD, pioneered the world's first commercial autonomous ride-hailing; the team includes top scientists in multimodal models and reinforcement learning, plus mass-production veterans for full-chain capabilities from algorithms to products.

At the lab-to-industry inflection for embodied AI, Boundless Power's closed-loop evolution system uses "real machines, real people, real environments" data to bridge simulation-reality gaps, incorporating "shadow mode" from intelligent driving for silent iteration. The first-generation dual-arm wheeled robot platform has broken through in industrial manufacturing and commercial services, entering factory pilots this month.

Sequoia China praised the team's "tech-product-delivery-scale" integration; Linear Capital highlighted transforming top tech into productivity. Zhang stated the funding will accelerate R&D and deployment, advancing the universal brain's long-term evolution to scale robotics across industries.
