Faraday Future Reveals First Pre-Production FF 91

Faraday Future (FF) announced the completion of the first pre-production of FF 91, the company’s first production vehicle and flagship model.

According to an internal email sent from the CEO office, FF hosted a selected group of key members in a ceremony on August 28 at Hanford, California, where the manufacturing plant is based, to celebrate the first pre-production build of FF 91, the reportedly luxury intelligent electric vehicle.

FF tweeted this morning,“First Pre-Production. Done.”, with a picture that might have been taken at the ceremony. In the picture, a midnight black vehicle, probably the first FF 91, is surrounded by employees wearing FF T-shirts and raising champagne glasses. The company’s Founder and Global CEO Jia Yueting is sitting at the center, holding a board with his signature on it. It is reported that Jia presented awards and prizes to the production and R&D teams.

Meanwhile, Jia announced the news via Twitter with a video showing the assembly process of FF 91. “I firmly believe that the industry and users will reap in benefits from the ‘new species’ we all worked so hard for”, he tweeted. In the video, one got a glance of the Hanford factory.

This June, Chinese real estate giant Evergrande Group became a major investor of FF. Earlier this month, Evergrande Health announced that FF has set up its operating headquarters in China and plans to build five R&D and production facilities across the country in the coming decade.

First deliveries of FF 91 are rumoured to begin in 2019. The company aims to reach an annual production capacity of 5 million in the next ten years and to roll out more models.
