First Look at Geely’s New Medium-Sized MPV LEVC TX5

Domestic media outlet Yiche reported on August 16 that Geely’s new SUV LEVC TX5 has been revealed. Compared with the previously released commercial version of the TXN, which focused on commercial operations, this new SUV will focus on the 7-seat medium-sized MPV market for home use. Owing to its high body design, the vehicle boasts a spacious interior.

In terms of interior design, the center console of the LEVC TX5 adopts a simple line design, with full a LCD instrument panel and large-size central touch screen. At the same time, the interior seating adopts brown diamond leather with a white hem, giving the interior a sense of luxury.

As a 7-seat medium-sized MPV for home use, the LEVC TX5 hosts three rows of seats. The layout is comprised of two seats in the front and middle and three across the back. The SUV can accommodate seven passengers, which can meet the needs of many people traveling. At the same time, the passenger seat also has a boss key.

In addition, according to different models, the seating layout of the SUV can be modified to provide a “1+3+3” free travel version and space enjoyment version, a “2+3” urban living room version and, finally, a “2+2+3” business version mentioned above.

The LEVC TX5 will be equipped with an extended-range hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine, motor and battery pack, in which the 1.5T engine has a power of 120 kW and a torque of 225 Nm. The driving motor has a power of 120 kW and a torque of 240 Nm, and the NEDC has a pure electric life of 120 km. It adopts a rear-drive layout and can provide three driving modes: pure electric, smart hybrid and forced hybrid REEV.

The model will also provide a pure electric version with a single motor rear-drive layout, with a motor power of 120 kW, a torque of 240 N.m, a battery pack capacity of 66.6 kWh and a CLTC pure electric battery life of 410 km.

As early as 2006, Geely Group invested in Manganese Bronze Holdings PLC and established a joint venture factory in China. In 2013, Geely acquired the business and core asset of Manganese Bronze Holdings, namely the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC), from the custodian.
