Geely’s joint venture with Lifan Technology, Ruilan Auto, has launched its first battery swap-enabled model – Maple 60S, available in two versions, priced at 139,800 yuan ($22,100) and 169,800 yuan.
The Maple 60S measures 4,730 mm in length, 1,804 mm in width and 1,530 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. The new EV has 430L trunk space and 17 storage kits. It is equipped with practical functions such as one-button start, electronic parking, auto hold, automatic air conditioning, and others.
In terms of safety, the vehicle adapts Bosch’s 9.3-generation electronic stability program, an anti-skid brake system, electronic brake force distribution, and emergency brake assist system.
Based on the GBRC (Global Battery Rapid Change) platform, the vehicle contains an electric motor with a maximum power of 100 kW and a peak torque of 230Nm. The vehicle is equipped with power batteries supplied by Gotion High-Tech and has an NEDC range of up to 415 km. The Maple 60S is both rechargeable and battery replaceable and can charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in 30 minutes, and the fastest battery swap time is 60 seconds.
The device model will use Geely’s battery swap network. According to previously announced plans, Geely plans to build 5,000 swap stations by 2025 to cover 100 major cities and serve over 1 million vehicles. At present, power swap stations have been set up in Chongqing, Hangzhou, Jinan, Suzhou, Zibo and other regions, and some of them have recently become operational.
