Geely Holding’s Smart Pure Electric Vehicle Zeekr 001 to Start Delivery

Electric vehicle brand Zeekr announced on Thursday that the official start of production at the Zeekr Auto Factory will be held at 15:30 p.m. on October 16 at the commodity inspection line of the final assembly workshop. This model is the first for Zeekr, which is positioned as a pure electric luxury coupe.

Zeekr 001 follows the design of the Lynk & Co family in appearance. The front grille that runs through it is integrated with headlights, and daytime lights are on both sides of the hood.

It’s the side profile that is especially commendable, with a quite streamlined and sleek look. Equipped with hidden door handles, it is reported that the new model’s drag coefficient is only 0.23Cd, which surpasses BYD’s Han (0.233Cd) and is the current lowest among Chinese cars.

In terms of configuration, the new car is equipped with inductive frameless doors, air suspension (optional), W-HUD ultra-wide full-color head-up display system, and ECONYL environmentally friendly racing seats. In addition, the model is equipped with heat pumps, which further improves the endurance performance in winter.

The Zeekr 001 is based on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, equipped with two permanent magnet synchronous motors, with a maximum system power of 544 hp and a peak torque of 768 Nm. The cruising range of integrated NEDC will exceed 700km.

The officially announced acceleration time from 0 to 100km/h is 3.8s, and the model is equipped with a Bosch i-booster 2.0 brake booster system. The 100km/h-static braking distance is 34.5 meters.

Previously, on March 23 of this year, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group announced the establishment of Zeekr Intelligent Technology Company in its financial report. The new company is jointly invested by Geely Auto Group and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group with 2 billion yuan ($31.065 million). The founder and chairman of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Li Shufu is also the chairman of the new company while An Conghui, President of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, is its CEO.
