Geely Settles Plug-in Hybrid EV Project in Zhejiang
The Linhai Municipal Government of Zhejiang Province announced on Monday that it had officially signed a cooperation agreement with Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Geely Holding Group. Geely officially settled the project of plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in the city.
Geely Linhai Industrial Park, with a production capacity of 300,000 vehicles, previously focused on the traditional fossil fuel vehicle market. In 2018, it became the first manufacturing enterprise in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, with an output value exceeding 30 billion yuan ($4.7 billion).
In recent years, the market demand for traditional fossil fuel vehicles has shrunk for a number of reasons. After the new project has been launched by the company, it will achieve the goal of increasing the average annual output value of Geely Linhai Industrial Park by 20% and will promote the transformation, upgrading and coordinated development of Linhai’s automobile industry.
According to the local government, the model of this new project is the Emgrand L Hi • X. The maximum range of the new model is 1,300 km with fuel consumption hitting 3.8 L/100 km and needing only 6.9s to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. The company plans to roll the new vehicle off of the production line in August and will put on the market in September of this year.

The company is going to launch more than 10 new energy vehicles, such as hybrids, plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles, five of which will be equipped with the Leishen system.
