Geely’s Electric Vehicle Brand Zeekr to Enter European Market
On April 18, Geely’s high-end intelligent electric vehicle brand Zeekr unveiled its entire lineup at the Shanghai Auto Show, including the new luxury SUV Zeekr X, the pure electric luxury MPV Zeekr 009, the luxury coupe Zeekr 001 and the M-Vision concept car. At the same time, Zeekr announced its European strategy to enter global markets.
During the press conference, Spiros Fotinos, Vice President of Zeekr and CEO of Zeekr Europe Sales Company elaborated on their European strategy: “In Europe, for Europe”. With excellent products and a direct sales model supported by one-stop services as three business pillars, the firm aims to expand into the European market and become a leading brand in Europe’s electric vehicle market by 2030.

In 2023, Zeekr’s first batch of physical stores will be established in Stockholm and Amsterdam with delivery completed within that year. By 2026 they plan to enter most Western European regions.
During the exhibition, they also displayed their mass-produced model, Zeekr 009 ME edition. This model is equipped with CATL’s CTP 3.0 Kirin battery and will start being delivered in bulk on April 16.
The event also featured their M-Vision concept car, which is designed for futuristic travel. Unlike traditional automobiles that prioritize the driver’s experience, this car prioritizes passengers by creating an intelligent mobile space with a large area and multi-functional seating layout.
Based on this M-Vision concept car, Zeeker developed a dedicated vehicle model for Waymo’s autonomous driving fleet, which previously made an impressive appearance at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023. It will have production capacity conditions ready by 2024 followed by commercial operation in the US later on.
