Geely’s Zeekr Debuts All-Electric MPV for $69K-81K
Geely-owned automotive brand Zeekr officially opened its second model, the Zeekr 009, for reservations on November 1. The new vehicle is available in two versions, with cruising ranges of 702 km and 822 km for corresponding prices of 499,000 yuan ($68,639) and 588,000 yuan ($80,881).
Firm CEO An Conghui claimed that the Zeekr 009 is the world’s first all-electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) with a cruising range of more than 700 km, exceeding 99% of fuel-based vehicles in China.
The car’s dimensions are 5.21 meters in length, 2.02 meters in width, 1.85 meters in height and 3.21 meters in the wheelbase. It is based on a sustainable experience architecture (SEA) platform and uses CATL’s Kirin battery. It can be charged from 10% to 80% in 28 minutes.
The space, seats and quietness are the purported highlights of this luxurious MPV. With a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.5 seconds, the Zeekr 009 will begin delivery in January 2023.
In terms of hardware, the Zeekr 009 is equipped with two Mobileye EyeQ5H high-performance chips, seven 8-megapixel high-definition cameras, four 2-megapixel scanning cameras, one longrange millimeter-wave radar, 12 short-range ultrasonic radars and others, improving algorithmic and perception abilities in all directions.
With excellent sensing technology, the Zeekr 009 can realize autonomous on-and-off high-speed ramps, lane changes, intercommunication and intelligent hedging.
On the day before the release of the new car, Geely announced the latest development of Zeekr’s independent listing. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange has confirmed that the group can carry out the proposed spin-off, but the relevant terms, including the listing locale, offering scale, and price range have not yet been determined.
