RoboParty, a full-stack open-source biped humanoid robot startup founded in April 2025, has completed a seven-figure seed funding round. Investors include Matrix Partners China, Xiaomi Strategic Investment, Galaxy Universal, and L2F Capital. The company’s founder, Huang Yi, born in 2004, is one of China’s youngest humanoid robot entrepreneurs.

While a first-year student at Harbin Institute of Technology, Huang built a walking humanoid robot, AlexBot, with just $2,100 in dormitory conditions, sharing the entire development process openly. In February 2025, supported by Fourier Intelligence, he released an upgraded version, AlexBotmini. Shortly after, Huang graduated early and launched RoboParty, focusing on creating a fully open-source humanoid robot ecosystem.

RoboParty is the first fully open-source biped robot platform in China. Its in-development model, ATOM, has been described as “China’s first fully open-source humanoid robot.” Huang emphasizes that open-source is the fastest path to building a complete ecosystem, allowing developers to collaborate on common standards and fostering a shared industry platform. He argues that openness reduces collaboration barriers, increases security, and enhances global competitiveness.

The startup is currently conducting angel-round fundraising, with the goal of creating a “robotics Android”—a fully open platform to drive the next generation of embodied intelligence.
