The app entered public beta on November 17, and surpassed 10 million downloads within just one week.
Qwen’s explosive momentum is powered by the technical leadership and broad open-source influence of Alibaba’s Qwen large model family. Qwen models have already established a strong presence across both technology benchmarks and developer communities, with over 700 million global downloads of its open-source models and recognition from multiple international tech giants.
Since the public beta launch, the Qwen App has rapidly gained traction among users:
- Ranked Top 3 on the Mainland China App Store’s Free Overall Chart within its first three days
- Reached No.1 on the Macau App Store
- Entered the Top 3 in Hong Kong
The Qwen App remains in public beta, and its capabilities—especially in task execution—are expected to continue expanding as more services from Alibaba’s ecosystem are integrated in the future.
