Honor Launches Insanely Inexpensive Smartphone and Tablet with Epic Speakers
Honor released two new products at a product launch in Beijing on Oct. 11. The popular brand under Huawei released a new budget smartphone — the Honor 8C as well as their newest tablet — the Honor pad 5.
Honor 8C – Long-lasting Battery Life at Extremely Low Price
The Honor 8C shares many features with its big brother, the Honor 8X that was released in September, the main difference being the slightly less advanced specs and the lower price.
The Honor 8C is the first smartphone to be released with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC with 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of internal storage with a micro SD card slot for up to 256 GB of additional storage. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with custom EMUI skin on top.
The phone’s camera offers face unlock and portrait mode and features a dual camera set-up in the back with a 13 MP primary unit and a 2 MP secondary unit which is slightly less impressive than the 8X’s 20MP and 2MP unit camera. The front has an 8 MP selfie camera and both of these camera modules have dedicated LED light supporting 1080p video recording.
The 8C’s main selling point is its large battery, it sports a 4000 mAh battery which means that you can listen to music non-stop for 50 hours or watch videos for 12.5 hours without having to recharge. It comes in four different colors — Platinum Gold, Nebula Purple. Midnight Black and Aurora Blue. The color scheme was inspired by the colors of the night sky, from dusk to dawn.
The price is even lower than the already affordable Honor 8X, starting at an astonishing $160.
