Honor Launches New V30-series with 5G
Honor released their newest addition to the V-series, or the View-series as it is known internationally, on November 26 in Beijing. Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro, are the Huawei-owned brand’s first 5G phones.
The V30 phones both have a 6.57-inch LCD display with a double hole-punch cutout similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S10 Plus. In addition to the regular 32MP camera, Honor has included an 8MP wide-angle lens, making it easier to take group photos. Much like in the V20-series, the fingerprint scanner is located on the side. The back features a large elevated piece in the corner that hosts the triple camera setup.

The Pro has a higher-resolution 12MP ultrawide camera while the V30 has an 8MP sensor. The phones otherwise share the same 40MP primary camera, and 8MP telephoto lens.
Another difference between the two is that the regular V30 features a standard Kirin 990 and separate Barong 5000 5G modem, while the Pro-version uses the integrated Kirin 990 5G chipset. Both phones support 40W fast charging but only the Pro supports wireless charging. However, the V30 Pro has a slightly smaller battery with 4,100mAh compared to the 4,200 of the non-Pro version.
