Huawei and Electronics Retailer GOME Reach Strategic Cooperation
Beijing-based electronics retailer GOME Retail Holdings Limited and telecommunications giant Huawei on Tuesday reached a new strategic cooperation agreement. The two companies will cooperate in the digital operation and management of stores, omni-channel digital marketing, and intelligent terminal IoT around Gome’s “all-retail ecological sharing platform.”
Wang Wei, CEO of GOME, introduced that for the digital upgrade of offline stores, the company will join hands with Huawei to build a model of all-retail intelligent stores, covering aspects such as store standard IT equipment and services, store operation management, equipment and facilities management and one-stop operation of retail stores.
In the future, the two sides will jointly work to build industry standards for the construction of digital-managed stores under the guidance of the Chinese government’s carbon peaking and neutrality goals.

On April 27, Chinese media reported that Huawei and GOME, two companies with operations in completely different fields, were discussing a possible cooperation regarding digital upgrades.
The background of the cooperation between the two companies is that GOME, which has been deeply involved in the retail industry for many years, hopes to build a service system integrating online and offline channels with the help of digital technology.
On the other hand, as an information and communications enterprise, Huawei has also invested substantial resources in retail business during recent years. Relying on its technology and experience, Huawei can help retail enterprises solve the difficulty of customer growth, bringing them new business growth points.
