Huawei Applies for V-Pencil Trademark in EU, Perhaps for Stylus of Folding Screen Mate V Smartphone
LetsGoDigital has reported that on October 4, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. officially applied for the “Huawei V-Pencil” trademark to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Earlier, it was reported by a Chinese blogger named “Juchang Yingye Fans” that Huawei may launch a folding screen smartphone called the Huawei Mate V featuring a top and bottom folding screen design, mainly targeted at female consumers. Perhaps Huawei will release its stylus products together with the next generation of folding screen mobile phones.
As submitted by Huawei to the EUIPO, the trademark is classified as category “nine,” and described as an “electronic pen, computer stylus and touch screen stylus.” That is to say, Huawei is indeed developing a new type of stylus for touch screen devices, not limited to Huawei’s folding screen smartphones. Because its MateBook laptops also support touch screen operation, the stylus may enable more more precise operation to the two series.
As for the Huawei Mate V, a blogger named “Digital Chat Station” reports that Huawei has a folding screen smartphone that features a top and bottom folding screen. This smartphone targets female consumers and is considered as a high-end product with “quite good configuration.” So far, it’s unclear when it will be released to market.
As reported by different bloggers, there are already rumblings about Huawei’s new folding screen smartphone, but the company hasn’t given any formal response yet.
