Huawei-Backed AITO Begins Warm-Up for New M7 SUV
The AITO automotive brand, created by Huawei in cooperation with Seres, on Monday sought to drum up anticipation for its upcoming M7 model. The new SUV will be released at the end of this month, and it is expected to be delivered by the end of July. It will also be launched through Huawei Vmall.
AITO has previously released an interior preview and back view diagram of the M7. The new car is positioned as a luxury mid-size SUV, and it will provide pure electric and extended range power options. According to the preview, the interior of the new vehicle adopts a six-seat layout design, equipped with a large panoramic sunroof and optional light-colored theme.
The vehicle adopts the same family design language as the AITO M5, and the front face is equipped with a lighted brand logo through LED strips. The size of the new car is 502019451775 mm, with a wheelbase of 2820 mm.
The AITO M7 adopts permanent magnetic synchronous motors in the front and back, with power of 130kW/200kW, and a built-in ternary lithium battery. It has a WLTC range of 135 km under battery power and a fuel consumption of 7.45 liters per 100 km.
At last month’s Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s Terminal Business Unit, said that the AITO M7 would completely surpass million-dollar luxury cars such as Toyota’s Erffa and the Lexus LM. He also revealed that the pure electric version of the AITO M5 will be launched as early as September.
