Huawei Builds World’s First Outdoor F5G OptiX SuperSite
On November 3, Qinghai Unicom and Huawei jointly completed the commercialization of the world’s first outdoor F5G OptiX SuperSite solution in Dagaoling Village, Huangyuan County, Qinghai Province.
The F5G OptiX SuperSite is the industry’s first one-stop solution that integrates transmission and access launched by Huawei. Its uplink is through the optical transmission network in order to take advantage of high-quality transmission services that is beamed directly into the cloud. Its downlink can be directly connected with existing passive optical networks to realize rapid and wide coverage.
In February 2021, Huawei released its F5G OptiX SuperSite for global operators. Jin Yuzhi, President of Huawei’s Transmission and Access Product Line, once said: “The F5G OptiX SuperSite is like the highway entrance when we travel, providing operators with high-quality, all-service and one-stop access, and building a high-speed portal to the digital world for smart cities.”
The F5G OptiX SuperSite has three different forms, all of which can be deployed flexibly by operators based on actual needs. It realizes single-board optical switching functionality through its original optical waveguide routing technology, while equipment size is reduced by 80%.

For government and enterprise users, the F5G OptiX SuperSite pioneers P2MP optical transmission network technology, which can utilize the existing optical fiber resources of optical transmission networks to achieve high-quality direct connect access and quickly cover a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises. The network can be completed in just two days, and the duration of network deployment has been shortened from 46 days to 15 hours.
