Huawei Establishes Third Batch of “Legions”
According to internal messages, Chinese telecommunications and electronics firm Huawei held an inaugural meeting on May 26 for the formation of its third batch of integrated teams, or “legions.” Ren Zhengfei, Meng Wanzhou and other senior executives attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Ren Zhengfei, the founder of Huawei, announced the establishment of several new divisions, including the Site Energy Legion, Digital Finance Legion, Machine Vision Legion, Public Utilities Systems Department and Manufacturing Industry Digital Systems Department.
Ren Zhengfei said at the conference: ”These legions should pay attention to the exploration and establishment of their respective business models. The legion is a lean organization, and the market and services are global. We must build a symbiotic and win-win partnership system, be involved in thousands of partners and serve thousands of industries.”
The concept of the Huawei Legion Organization was inspired by Google. In April 2022, at the Huawei Global Analyst Conference, Hu Houkun, the rotating chairman of Huawei, said that through the new organizational operation mode of “legions,” Huawei has shortened the management chain vertically and made product research and development better respond to customer needs. Horizontally, it helps Huawei quickly integrate resources, identify key business scenarios, and integrate the products and capabilities of Huawei and its partners to form targeted solutions.
