Huawei Honor Ranks First in Market Share in Russia

Both the Honor 20 and the Honor 20 Pro are each the sales champions in their own price ranges.” Zhao Ming, president of Huawei‘s sub-brand Honor, posted on Weibo on September 11.

According to Russian media outlet Kommersant, in the first quarter of 2019, Honor was the sales champion among smartphone brands in the Russian market, accounting for 27.1% of the market. In addition, according to the data of retailer M.Video-Eldorado, among the five most popular mobile phones in the first half of 2019 in Russia, three were Honor smartphones, among which the Honor 7A achieved the highest sales volume. For the first time in the past five years, iPhone was absent from the list.
According to official data released by Honor, the number of its global fans and users has reached 120 million. According to Canalys data, in the third quarter of 2018, Honor entered the top five in Germany, Finland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Italy and other countries, ranking first in terms of market growth in nine countries.
It is also reported that in the second half of 2019, Honor is expected to release 5G smartphones. After the launch of the Kirin 990 on September 6, Zhao Ming disclosed information about the new 5G products. It is reported that the new flagship series is named the Vera 30 will be equipped with the Kirin 990 series processor and is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of this year.
