Huawei Mate 50/Pro Series Product Event Surpasses 1.16M Reservations
An autumn launch conference for the Huawei Mate 50 smartphone series and full-scenario new products will be held on September 6, where a range of new devices will be unveiled. Reservations for the launch event have now opened on the firm’s official website. As of the morning of August 29, the number of reservations for the event had exceeded 1.16 million.
According to leaked information, the Huawei Mate 50 series is expected to include the Mate 50e, Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 RS. According to China’s network access certificate information, Huawei’s Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS do not support 5G, and have dual sim slots. They are equipped with the firm’s HarmonyOS operating system.
According to Chinese blogger with Weibo username “Digital Chat Station,” Huawei’s Mate 50 E will adopt a Qualcomm SM7315 processor, namely the Snapdragon 778G 4G. Meanwhile, the Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro will be equipped with a SM8425 processor, namely Snapdragon 8 Gen1 4G. In addition, the new models will adopt two display versions, including a 2.5D micro-curved display and curved screen, and they will come standard with a 50MP main camera.
The blogger also disclosed that the Huawei Mate 50 Pro will adopt a 1.5K curved notch screen, and the notch is significantly larger than that of the previous generation, close to the notch size of the Mate 20 Pro. It also supports new functions for face and posture recognition.

According to previously leaked information, Huawei’s Mate 50 smartphone series will also feature upgraded images, as the Mate 50 Pro’s rear has a ring-like camera module. The model supports face recognition and unlocks the camera in front. According to Cailian Press, Huawei’s Mate 50 will adopt the highest domestically made curved screen, and many of other core components and technologies will also be domestically developed.
