Huawei launches the Mate 80 series and foldable Mate X7 with new Kirin 9030 chips and HarmonyOS 6, featuring advanced AI agents and second-gen Hongfeng imaging, with top models priced up to 15,999 RMB.
On November 25, 2025, Huawei launched its annual flagship Mate 80 series and foldable Mate X7, all powered by the new Kirin 9030 series chipset. The Mate 80 Pro 12GB model features the standard Kirin 9030, while the 16GB Pro, Pro Max, and Mate X7 use the Kirin 9030 Pro—with the Mate 80 Pro Max becoming the 5G era's first all-metal body flagship.
On software, both lines debut HarmonyOS 6 with upgraded AI: Xiaoyi evolves from voice assistant to "Xiaoyi Agent," autonomously learning app operations. The Mate X7 leverages A2A agent collaboration for third-party app integration, supporting split-screen bookings, similar-item search, real-time translation, and more. Xiaoyi Notes enables meeting transcription, smart tagging, video summaries, and quick document comparisons for text/data differences.
For imaging, the Mate 80 series introduces second-gen Hongfeng camera with the ninth-gen ISP, boosting color accuracy 43%, light intake 96% via 2.45μm mega-pixels, and dynamic range 300% with DCG tech. The Pro Max packs a 17.5EV high-dynamic main sensor and dual periscope telephotos for full-focal coverage, plus "Dynamic Rocking Shot" mode. The Mate X7's custom module features a 1/1.56-inch main camera on the standard edition (upgraded to 1/1.28-inch on the collector's version), with 50MP tele-macro and ultra-wide, improving color restoration 43%.
Pricing starts at 4,699 RMB for Mate 80 (12+256GB), 5,999 RMB for Pro, 7,999 RMB for Pro Max, and 11,999 RMB for RS Masterpiece edition, available from 10:08 AM on November 28. Mate X7 begins at 12,999 RMB (12+256GB), 14,999 RMB for collector's, and 15,999 RMB for top 16+1TB config, launching December 5. The Kirin 9030's 1+4+4 octa-core architecture and Maleoon 935 GPU deliver significant performance gains, making these Huawei's "complete flagship" through seamless hardware-software synergy.
