Huawei Music and Taihe Music Group Reach Copyright Agreement
On August 28th, Huawei Music announced a copyright agreement with Taihe Music Group and will now provide users with music by hundreds of new and old singers, including Xue Zhiqian, Xu Song, Hebe Tien, Tan Weiwei, Yang Naiwen, A Duo, and Liu Xijun.
Huawei Music has set up many channels, including audiobook radio, music stories, personal promotion, crosstalk and Chinese storytelling, reading for children, and business and finance. Taihe Music Group, meanwhile, provides artists with a single point of contact for their purposes of agency, planning, promotion, copyright, commercial performance, endorsement, fans’ community, and many other features.
Recently, Huawei reached a strategic cooperation with Universal Music Group in July. The latter now owns a massive library of copyrighted music, including Chinese singers such as Alan Tam, Jacky Cheung, Teresa Teng, Leslie Cheung, Priscilla Chan and Eason Chan, European. Their content library stretches beyond the borders of China and now includes American singers such as Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, and even classical musicians and singers such as Lang Lang, Joe Hisaishi and Andrea Bocelli.

The Huawei Music App is available on Huawei smartphones and any Android handset with HMS Core components. Huawei Music has two types of memberships: the first is VIP membership which is charged at 12 yuan per month, and the second is Super VIP at 15 yuan per month. All songs downloaded through the App are similar to other mainstream music apps as they all encrypt the music file and only support local playback.
