Huawei nova 8, nova 8 Pro Debut with 120Hz Refresh Rate
The Huawei nova 8 series debuted Wednesday afternoon with the nova 8 and nova 8 Pro.
The nova 8 Pro adopts an 80-degree super-curved ring screen design, is only 7.85mm thick and weighs only 184g, creating a comfortable grip.
The new series has added a new iridescent gold color, using “dual-film dual-plating” technology combined with AG anti-glare glass technology, to create the illusion of starlight in the square inches on the back of the phone. The series also sports a star ring lens module, which looks like a unique striking star trail.
In addition to the gold color, the nova 8 series comes in purple (Provence), Cyan (Wonderful Forest) and Bright Black.
The nova 8 Pro packs a 120Hz high refresh rate screen, smooth for both gaming and browsing websites. With 10-bit color depth and a 1.07 billion color display, color fineness is significantly improved.
For the core, both nova 8 and nova 8 Pro are powered by the Kirin 985 5G SoC chip, and support Wi-Fi 6+ connection and fast downloads of high-definition movies.
The series sports a 64MP main rear camera with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle and a macro quad-camera setup. The nova 8 Pro comes with a front dual-lens for vlogging, a 32MP ultra-wide-angle video lens and a 16MP portrait lens, enlarging the screen size and eliminating noises.
For gamers, the nova Pro’s 90FPS ultra-high frame rate version jointly launched with “King of Glory” means higher image quality and a better gaming experience.
The nova 8 Pro supports front and rear dual scene recording 2.0, with a larger front viewing angle and a more stable picture.
Huawei’s nova 7 series 5G had the highest sales in China’s smartphone market in the third quarter of 2020, according to the company.
