Huawei Officially Releases P60 Series
Huawei held its Spring flagship new launch event on March 23 during which the company released a variety of products, such as the new flagship P60 series, and quashing rumors that Huawei had exited its smartphone business.
At the launch event, Richard Yu, Managing Director of Huawei and CEO of Terminal BG, announced that the P60 series is the world’s first smartphone supporting two-way Beidou satellite messaging, effectively implementing two-way contact between helpers and rescuers.
The P60 series, one of the most highly anticipated product release in recent times, includes the P60 and P60 Pro models. The P60 Pro with a higher configuration will launch with a Sony IMX888 sensor, 50MP, with a sensor area of 1/1.4 inch and supports variable aperture. At the same time, the new machine will also be equipped with a 64-megapixel periscope group, and the image configuration is as usual.
In terms of appearance, the Huawei P60 series continues the design philosophy of the well-known P series and still features the classic camera layout but has a brand-new quadrilateral screen, giving the phone a round feeling. The new device is available in four color schemes: purple, black, green and rococo white. Among them, rococo white features condensing Fritillaria, with every texture and color revealed in pure white.
According to the P60 series proofs offered up by Richard Yu, the current managing director of Huawei, the imaging capability of this generation of flagship smartphones has been greatly enhanced. One greatly admired feature is the ability to zoom in on the moon, which has had its algorithm enhanced.
As we all know, due to hardware limitations, in the past, telephoto night scenes captured by phone generally suffered from insufficient light input, which led to serious deficit in quality. At the same time, due to an imperfect imaging algorithm, visual noise was common in night photos while the foreground and background exposure was unbalanced.

However, judging from the proofs of the Huawei P60 series, the telephotos of this flagship will impress, especially with night photography. Previously, the Huawei P Series had innovative technologies in telephoto imaging algorithms. It can be predicted that Huawei P60 series will once again break through the upper limit of the smartphone telephoto experience with stronger telephoto night scene shooting technology.
In terms of processor, P60 Standard Edition will adopt Snapdragon 8+ but lacks 5G network support, preventing the P60 from becoming a HarmonyOS model with the best feature set.
In addition, this time Huawei also released the P60 Art, which was designed by the Huawei Paris Institute of Aesthetics, adopted irregular camera design, inspired by islands, and is available in two colors: quicksand gold and azure sea. Compared with the P60 Pro, the super wide-angle camera of this device has been upgraded to 40MP f/2. 2, the battery has been upgraded to 5100mAh silicon-carbon negative battery, and other configurations are consistent with other Pro models.
Surprisingly, Huawei’s new device release rhythm is much earlier than in previous years, showing that Huawei’s internal product upgrade iteration and supply chain have been improved.
This launch event means that Huawei’s smartphone business is gradually returning to the right track, and the competition among electronic product manufacturers will become more intense.
