Huawei P50 Pocket New Foldable Phone to Adopt XMAGE Imaging
On September 13, Chinese digital blogger “Changzhang Shi Guantongxue” broke the news on Weibo that the “Huawei P50 Pocket new” foldable smartphone will be released soon, and the model will be equipped with Huawei’s XMAGE imaging brand and HarmonyOS 3.0, but the processor will be Snapdragon 778G. The price is expected to be around 6000 yuan ($866).
On the same day, another Weibo blogger named “Wangzai Baishitong” seemed to confirm the news, but added that it would also be equipped with a 120Hz OLED screen. The blogger also posted a corner of what is likely to be a poster of the new machine, showing slogan as “the spirit surpasses everything.”
Earlier, at Huawei’s Mate 50 series conference, Huawei said that after several years of research and development, it formed its own mobile imaging technology based on the four technical bases of “light, smartphone, electricity and computing”. The result of which is Huawei XMAGE, an imaging brand for mobile phones.
Huawei XMAGE features natural shots with which users can capture what they see with warmer tones, meaning that the lighting can be kept as natural as possible. It also maintains clear details in shots and can emphasize the main subject in a natural way.
For reference, Huawei P50 Pocket, a foldable smartphone, was released in December last year. It adopts double-ring design, with a lens module and a circular external small screen stacked up and down. It has a 6.9-inch flexible screen with 21:9 screen ratio, 2790×1188 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and P3 color gamut. The smartphone has a water drop hinge design which improves the flatness of the screen by 28%.
