On December 5, Huawei launched its first 5G version of the trendy selfie flagship, the Huawei Nova 6 series.
Following the tradition of the Nova series, Huawei’s Nova 6 is a 5G smartphone specially designed for young people. The 5G function is a major selling point in addition to the chic style and strong selfie-taking capabilities.
The Huawei Nova 6 series adopts a 6.57-inch bezel-less display with 2400 × 1080 resolution and dual cameras. The phone has a 3D quad-curved glass body, with the fingerprint sensor and power button combined into one.
The handset also features an e-book mode, with the screen passing TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification. The Nova 6 series is available in four colors: Black, Blue, Red, Provence (only available for Nova 6 5G).
In terms of specs, the Huawei Nova 6 5G is powered by a dual-chip Kirin 990 + Balong 5000 to optimize battery life and heat dissipation. Its 4200mAh battery makes it the largest battery of the Nova series. It supports AI intelligent power saving technology as well as 40W fast charging.
The selfie camera is a major highlight of the Huawei Nova 6 series. Huawei Nova 6 5G is Huawei’s first front-facing ultra-wide-angle dual-camera phone, with a 32MP autofocus lens and a 105 ° ultra-wide-angle lens. In terms of camera software, the Nova 6 series supports AI layered distortion correction, portrait super night scene 2.0, better AI HDR + backlight performance and dual-lens blurring effect, which makes contours clearer and blurring more natural. Additionally, the phone supports 4K high-definition video recording.
In the DXOMark rankings, the Huawei Nova 6 5G took first place with a comprehensive score of 100 points. It scored 105 points for photos and 93 points for videos. In terms of rear cameras, it is equipped with Huawei ’s flagship super-sensitive imaging system, including a 40MP super-sensitive main camera, a 3x optical zoom lens, and a 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens.
The Huawei Nova 6 4G ( 8GB+128GB) is priced at 3199 yuan (about $408). Huawei Nova 6 5G comes in two storage variants — a 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB version, which are priced at 3799 yuan ($540) and 4199 yuan ($596) respectively. Both are available for pre-order today, and will be officially launched on December 12.
