SHENZHEN, November 17 - Huawei has officially announced its annual flagship Mate 80 series will debut on November 25 at 14:30, positioning the event as the final major smartphone launch of 2025.
The lineup introduces significant branding changes, replacing the "Pro+" model with a new "Mate 80 Pro Max" variant. According to company leaks, the entire series will standardize both the Kirin 9030 processor and 3D facial recognition across all models.
Key innovations include a potential "dual periscope telephoto" system in the Pro Max model and a new magnetic accessory ecosystem, indicated by a prominent circular interface on the rear casing. The Mate 80 RS Ultimate Edition will exclusively feature 20GB of RAM, reportedly using custom-developed memory chips from domestic suppliers.
Beyond smartphones, Huawei is expected to unveil the MatePad Edge - a groundbreaking 2-in-1 device capable of switching between PC and tablet versions of HarmonyOS without interrupting active processes. The company will also introduce the artistic "Sunlight on Snow Mountains" router (X3 Pro), featuring transparent antenna technology that doubles as ambient lighting.
This comprehensive launch underscores Huawei's continued focus on building an integrated ecosystem under HarmonyOS 6, spanning from mobile devices to home networking and computing solutions.
