Huawei to Offer Swapping of Phones’ Back Case for Previous Customers

Recently Huawei’s official website launched a new service allowing users of its products to get the back case of their mobile phones changed. The service will last until September 30 this year.

Eligible customers can apply for the back case replacement service as long as their mobile phone is one of the specified models listed on Huawei’s website. The service includes changes to the material or color of the back case. At present, this offering only supports some models such as the Huawei P10 Plus, the Mate20 and the latest Mate40 series.

Users can purchase this service at more than 1,900 Huawei customer service centers across mainland China.

Replacing the back case can make mobile phones look new. After upgrading to the firm’s HarmonyOS software, the phones’ capabilities and general user experience can remain current, ensuring the retention rate of old users.

This service is scheduled to end on September 3 later this year.

The HarmonyOS 2.0 system was officially released on June 2, and has been adapted to 69 devices. Only one week after its release, HarmonyOS had amassed 10 million users, later increasing to 25 million users in one month.

Earlier, Huawei forecasted that 300 million devices would be equipped with HarmonyOS this year, of which 200 million would come from Huawei’s own ecology of products, and the rest from other partner devices. However, regarding the current situation, more equipment and brand support will be needed if Huawei aims to achieve this goal within six months.
