Hydrogen Gas Turbine Brand Marvel-Tech Secures Pre-A Round Financing

Marvel-Tech, a hydrogen gas turbine brand, has recently completed a pre-A round of financing totaling nearly 50 million yuan ($7.3 million), led by Fortune Capital and followed by Shunwei Capital and Zizhu Seedlings Fund, 36Kr reported on August 19.

Founded in 2015, Marvel-Tech is a new energy high-tech enterprise with operations in the field of turbine machinery, dedicated to the development of a new generation of zero-carbon, hydrogen-based power generation technology and products. Its main products are hydrogen gas turbines, which can be applied to many fields such as distributed energy, data centers, rail transit, ship power, and vehicle power.

Gas turbines previously used natural gas as their main fuel. With the clear policy direction of carbon reduction in recent years, the costs of hydrogen production from wind and solar sources have been reduced. Hydrogen gas turbines that rely on hydrogen combustion for power generation are becoming a new track for global energy enterprises.

The core members of Marvel-Tech are composed of returnees to China who have been engaged in gas turbine technology development in Germany for many years, as well as industry veterans who have been deeply involved in domestic turbo machinery product R&D and manufacturing for many years.

Marvel-Tech is developing three series of pure hydrogen gas turbines. Units with different levels of generating power are to support different applicable scenarios. 2MW hydrogen gas turbine helps the energy systems of hotels, schools and hospitals to realize cascade utilization of energy. 100KW hydrogen gas turbines are suitable as extended range devices for aircraft hybrid systems.
