Insta360 Releases “Sphere” 360 Drone Camera

Shenzhen-based camera manufacturer Insta360 released a 360-degree invisible drone camera called Sphere on Tuesday, for a price of 2,798 yuan ($420).

The key limitation of traditional wide-angle cameras is that they can only capture in one direction. A user’s ability to get the best footage is dependent upon their flying abilities and the maneuvers they are capable of pulling off in real-time. That’s no longer the case with Insta360 Sphere. By filming in 5.7K 360, users can adjust the angle and camera direction in their video after shooting. Insta360’s proprietary FlowState Stabilization technology has been fine-tuned for Insta360 Sphere to ensure steady aerial footage.

The all-new Insta360 Sphere is a tool to level up users’ content production with the DJI Mavic Air 2/2S. With Sphere attached, the drone becomes totally invisible in the resulting footage, while the camera’s lightweight, unibody structure and intuitive operation make 360 aerial filming easier than ever before. It also doesn’t impede the GPS signal or remote control system of drones.

Using the simple reframing tools in the Insta360 app and Studio desktop, creators can add thrilling rolls and turns to their aerial footage, achieving FPV-like footage on an easy-to-handle drone.
