Insta360 Releases Winter Panorama Update, Highlighting Dynamic Tracking 2.0 and Native 4K Output

On December 18, global panoramic camera leader Insta360 released its Winter 2025 firmware update, introducing a range of major feature upgrades across its product lineup. The centerpiece of the update is Dynamic Tracking 2.0, which delivers significant functional enhancements.
First, tracking targets have expanded from “self-only” to other subjects, greatly broadening creative possibilities for solo creators. Second, the update introduces a native 4K flat video export option, allowing users to output high-resolution footage directly without reframing in post-production—significantly simplifying workflows. Additional features include pitch lock, stabilized follow, and an FPV (first-person view) mode, which—combined with a new virtual joystick—enable gimbal-like, cinematic camera movements.
The update also expands Insta360’s hardware accessory ecosystem. The new Free Remote Controller allows more flexible remote camera control during Dynamic Tracking 2.0 shots. The Street Photography Grip supports native 2.35:1 cinematic aspect ratio output, along with film-style filters and watermark frames. Meanwhile, the X5 ND 128 filter, designed for high-speed sports such as skiing, delivers more natural motion blur.
On the software side, the Insta360 App now includes ski-themed templates and data overlay effects, enabling users to seamlessly embed speed, trajectory, and performance metrics into their videos. Together, these updates reinforce Insta360’s integrated hardware–software development philosophy.
