IoT Firm Skiff Energy Tech Secures Tens of Millions of Yuan in Pre-A Financing

Hangzhou-based internet-of-things (IoT) firm Skiff Energy Tech announced on Friday that it has recently completed a pre-A financing round worth tens of millions of yuan, following strategic investment from Hyperchain, a leading Chinese supplier of blockchain products and application solutions.

Ma Xing, the company’s founder, said that the fresh funds would be used to expand its team, enhance R&D of its products, increase market sales, and implement blockchain technology within the energy storage industry.

Founded in 2016, Skiff Energy Tech is an IoT technology firm that focuses on the energy storage industry. Based on an “artificial-intelligence-of-things (AIoT) technology platform, the company provides comprehensive operations and maintenance management solutions for energy storage power stations, covering the whole operation process of energy management, safety, operation and maintenance, settlement and finance. It has now served dozens of energy storage power stations.

Skiff Energy Tech has launched the “Light EMS” cloud-edge synergy system, which has various strategies such as peak shaving, load tracking, and optical storage coordination, meeting prevailing user needs in the current market. At the same time, the system can intelligently plan the best operation strategy for the future using dynamic programming and machine learning algorithms, based on diversified constraints and historical operations data.

This system also adopts the design architecture of integrating cloud-edge synergy, so that users can adjust their PCS/air conditioning strategy in the cloud to realize unattended operations. It can also realize the collaborative management between the platform end and the local end, providing a technical basis for the linkage of multiple energy storage systems.

In addition, the firm has launched the “energy storage housekeeper,” an energy storage cloud platform that can realize multi-power-station monitoring operations. The platform focuses on multi stations’ comprehensive monitoring realizing high-frequency data acquisition, and monitors and presents the performance and electrical parameters of multiple energy storage systems in real time. It also has the capabilities of battery analysis and early warning, proactive safety prevention and control, intelligent operations, load aggregation and centralized control, shared energy storage and energy storage insurance.
