Leading HarmonyOS Developer Wang Chenglu Reportedly Leaves Huawei
On Monday morning, several Chinese media outlets reported that Dr. Wang Chenglu, the leading pioneer of Huawei HarmonyOS and the Consumer BG Software Engineering Dept, has left Huawei. He modified his personal Weibo ID, removing official Huawei certification. The specific reasons remained unclear.
Wang Chenglu graduated from the Harbin Institute of Technology with a doctorate in engineering. He joined Huawei in 1998 and served as President of Core Network Product Line, President of Central Software Institute and President of Consumer BG Software Department. He then led the development of HarmonyOS. Wang witnessed Huawei’s development from switchboards to IT, communications, consumer electronics and other fields.
His latest public appearance was at the Huawei Developer Conference last October. Some web users commented that Wang’s name had disappeared from Huawei’s cloud intelligent work platform WeLink.
Several bloggers said that Wang’s next job is still related to HarmonyOS. However, Chinese social media blogger “@Wen Liyuan” said that Wang had joined Shenzhen Kaihong Digital Industry Development Co., Ltd.
