Lei Jun Releases Teaser of Xiaomi Civi 1S Smartphone Ahead of April 21 Launch
Lei Jun, the founder and CEO of major Chinese consumer electronics firm Xiaomi, on Monday morning posted promotional content for the new Civi 1S smartphone. In addition, the company officially announced that the new model will be launched on April 21.
A short video and promotional message posted by Lei Jun suggest that the new smartphone will be available in a new colorway related to “sunshine.”
Xiaomi‘s Civi 1S smartphone has previously been added to the official TENAA certification database. The released information shows that it will feature a “Miracle Sunshine” colorway, in addition to the previous generation’s colorways of black, pink and blue.
Moreover, according to the leaked information, the Xiaomi Civi 1S will bring about major upgrades in terms of its processor and charging capabilities.
Unofficial reports indicate that this is Xiaomi‘s first smartphone to be equipped with a Snapdragon 778G+ chipset. This is an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 778G, which adopts a TSMC 6nm processor and has a Cortex A78 architecture core. Its highest frequency is 2.5 GHz. In terms of GPU, Snapdragon 778G+ adopts an Adreno 642L GPU, which improves its performance by 7%, and supports the features of an Elite Gaming platform, including Variable Rate Shading (VRS) and Game Quick Touch.

The second major upgrade is that the new smartphone will support 67W fast charging, faster than the 55W wired fast charging supported by Xiaomi‘s previously released Civi model.
In September of last year, Xiaomi launched the Civi smartphone brand, which focuses on fashion and quality selfie features. With the brand-new velvet AG process and a thin body of only 6.98 mm and 166 g, it is sometimes considered to be the best-looking Xiaomi smartphone. From the naming method of the “1S,” the positioning of the Xiaomi Civi 1S will be an upgraded version of the previous Civi.
