Lei Jun reminds drivers that Xiaomi’s impressive safety ADAS on the YU7 is still assisted driving, not full autonomy, after it aced 11 real-world tests.
Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun shared a third-party real-world test of Xiaomi’s safety-assisted driving features on the YU7, stressing again that assisted driving is not autonomous driving and drivers must remain attentive. The YU7 passed all 11 tests across highway, urban, and night scenarios, including:
- 130 km/h emergency steering (AES) around a stationary dummy vehicle
- 110 km/h child “ghost probe” scenario
- 120 km/h AES+AEB combined test
- 80 km/h two-wheeler cut-in emergency braking
- Low-speed misacceleration suppression (MAI) The vehicle performed reliably in rain and darkness.
