Li Xiang, CEO of Chinese electric vehicle maker Li Auto, has shared bold predictions for the autonomous driving industry. He stated that fully autonomous smart cars could become a reality in as little as three years, and conservatively within five years. He envisions these vehicles becoming the largest AI terminals in the physical world. Furthermore, Li suggested that by 2030, smart vehicle companies could potentially surpass the scale of Apple's iPhone business. Last month, the CEO also voiced a strong opinion on the pricing of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). He argued that high-level ADAS "must be standard and should not carry additional usage fees." Li believes that the current practice of charging substantial fees for these features prevents many consumers from experiencing the latest smart driving conveniences. He emphasized that such technology should be offered without extra cost, allowing more consumers globally to appreciate the capabilities of Chinese artificial intelligence.
