Li Auto has unveiled its first AI glasses, Livis, featuring an ultralight 36-gram design and deep vehicle integration to expand its AI ecosystem beyond the car.

On December 3, Li Auto officially launched its Livis AI glasses, taking a pragmatic “AI + Audio + Camera” approach that breaks from industry convention and signaling a major step in the company’s transition from an automaker to an AI-focused technology company. Starting at USD 240, the glasses aim to redefine the core value of AI eyewear through their 36-gram ultralight design and deep integration with Li Auto’s vehicle ecosystem.

To address the industry’s long-standing “weight–battery life–performance” trade-off, Li Auto opted for a strategy of subtraction: it abandoned a full Android system in favor of the custom embedded Livis OS and removed immature AR display features, focusing instead on audio, imaging, and AI interaction. At just 36 grams—roughly the weight of classic Ray-Ban sunglasses and about 20% lighter than mainstream competitors—the glasses are designed for effortless all-day wear. When paired with their wireless charging case, Livis delivers up to 18.8 hours of total battery life, with a 300-millisecond wake time and command latency as low as 800 milliseconds.

As the first AI glasses tightly integrated with an in-car operating system, Livis introduces a new “wear-to-control-your-car” experience: users can unlock the vehicle, open the trunk, or adjust the air conditioning via voice commands. Navigation instructions can also be directed exclusively to the driver through open spatial audio, ensuring they do not disturb other passengers. The built-in 12-megapixel camera supports 0.7-second quick shots, paired with custom Zeiss lenses for improved comfort and practicality.

Powered by the MindGPT-4o large language model, Livis supports long-term memory and deep-research capabilities, enabling personalized recommendations based on user habits and generating professional-grade thematic reports. According to Li Auto Senior Vice President Fan Haoyu, smart glasses serve as a natural interaction interface and a crucial bridge extending Li Auto’s AI strategy from the vehicle to all daily scenarios.

Combining lightweight construction, long battery life, and seamless vehicle integration, Livis offers a new blueprint for AI devices designed to blend unobtrusively into everyday life—while highlighting Li Auto’s ambitions to build a broader AI ecosystem.
