Li Auto’s Newest Model L9 to Be Unveiled at Beijing Auto Show

Chinese electric vehicle maker Li Auto announced on Thursday that its brand-new flagship SUV, previously codenamed X01, has officially been named “Li Auto L9,” and will be released during the Beijing Auto Show running from April 21 to April 30.

The standard price of the new car will be about 500,000 yuan ($79,120). The model, which will begin delivery in the second half of 2022, has a larger size than that of the Li ONE. By 2023, Li Auto will launch more MPV models.

The L9 measures in at 5,150/1,980/1,800 mm, showing a greater length, width and height than the current Li ONE. The new car will adopt a Qualcomm 8155 car computer chip, OLED in-car screen for drivers, individual screens for passengers, head up display, and a 3100mm wheelbase. The central control screen can synchronize information on users’ mobile phones in real time, while the sound system will be provided by Sonavox.

The new car will also be equipped with intelligent driving services, including intelligent parking, urban intelligent driving, remote calling, and OTA upgrades.

L4 autonomous driving hardware is also provided in the model, including Horizon Robotics’ Journey 3 and 5 chip, a customized Orin-X chip, one 128 beam laser LIDAR, one dealer management system, five millimeter wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars and 12 8M cameras.

In terms of power, the new car’s 1.5T four-cylinder engine’s energy transformation rate reaches 40%, and the driving motor comes from HYCET, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Great Wall Motor. The maximum power of the system will reach 300kW and the maximum torque will reach 600 Nm. It has a 44.5 kWh battery capacity and a pure electric range of 155km under WLTC conditions. The 65L fuel tank increases the WLTC range from 735 km to 800 km. In addition, the L9 will be equipped with Vibracoustic’s air suspension.

According to previously leaked photos taken during road tests, the front face of the new car has a closed grille design, and the full-width light bar will continue to be used, but the size of its light sets will increase compared with the Li ONE.
