Meituan also revealed that in the second quarter, the local hotel booking business resumed the fastest after the COVID-19 pandemic, achieving a year-on-year growth of 25%. The company expects a positive year-on-year growth in the third quarter.

Meituan said it has launched several campaigns this year that focus on high-star hotels and offer various high-end services. As the COVID-19 pandemic isn’t going away anytime soon, domestic travel is still the mainstream market in the short term.
